Nicole Kettwick obtains positive results for juvenile client investigated for third degree Criminal Sexual Conduct . Nicole’s client had just completed high school and was preparing to start his first semester in college when he and his underage girlfriend were caught in a compromising situation. The girlfriend’s parents pressed charges, and Nicole’s client was charged with a serious sexual conduct charge that, if convicted, would have required him to be registered as a sex offender. After further investigating the case, Nicole revealed text messages and other evidence confirming the clearly mutual nature of the relationship and important information about the events leading up to the charges. Based on this information and juvenile age of both parties involved, Nicole was able to negotiate with the prosecutor obtaining a dismissal of the case.
The dismissal of the client’s case meant that he was able to continue moving forward with his college plans, and that an event the couple didn’t realize would lead to serious criminal consequences did not result in a life-long sex offender or criminal label.
