Elizabeth “Ellie” Orrick is a lawyer driven by her passion for helping individuals who find themselves in difficult legal situations to overcome uncertainty and fight for their desired outcomes. Before joining Brandt Kettwick Defense, Ellie clerked for two years at the Minnesota Court of Appeals. This experience allowed her to participate in the judicial decision-making process and provided her with a multifaceted perspective on the judicial system, granting her a distinctive advantage in the courtroom. Ellie also worked for two years as a certified student attorney with the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office before making the switch to criminal law as a certified student attorney with the Washington County Public Defender’s Office.
Ellie received her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where she graduated in the top 12% of her class. She was the Editor-in-Chief of the Mitchell Hamline Law Review Volume 47 allowing her to oversee the entire publication process of legal papers and hone her meticulous attention to detail. In her role as Editor-in-Chief, Ellie collaborated with other Minnesota law reviews and law journals to publish timely and thought-provoking articles addressing social justice in Mitchell Hamline’s first ever law review joint publication titled “Racial Inequality in the Legal System Locally and Nationally.” Ellie also served as the President of the Legal Association of Women Students, with the goal of helping women connect and find opportunities in law.
