      Isabel Gets Felony Charges Dismissed

      Case: Assault and Aggravated Robbery

      Result: Isabel’s client was charged with Felony Aggravated Robbery and Felony Assault in Hennepin County. These allegations resulted from a shooting that involved multiple people. Because the State was unable to meet their burden of proof, Isabel met with the prosecutor to discuss the legal issues in the case. On the eve of trial, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss both charges. This means that her client did not have to go to trial, and they no longer face a felony charge.

      Result: In 2018, Nicole’s client was charged with one count of Felony Second Degree Assault and one count of Misdemeanor Domestic Assault. After disclosing their investigation, the prosecutor dismissed the case on the eve of trial and sent it to the city attorney’s office for misdemeanor charges. Because the statute of limitations for the city to charge the case has now passed, Nicole’s client will not face any charges resulting from this incident.

      Assault Charge Dismissed, Traffic Charge Continued for Dismissal

Through negotiating with the prosecutors, Isabel was able to secure Stays of Adjudication on amended charges of Disorderly Conduct for both clients. This means that neither client will have an Assault or Domestic Assault charge on their record, and neither will face specific collateral issues resulting from the original charges that would have had devastating career and life impacts for these clients. Additionally, after successful completion of probation, the Disorderly Conduct charge will be dismissed for both clients.

      Result: Mike was retained by a client who was under investigation for possible felony assault charges stemming from a brawl that occurred outside of a bar. Mike was proactive in having his investigator take statements from various witnesses which he provided to the police. Based upon the statements that Mike’s investigator provided as well as other information, no charges were filed.

Based on his client’s proactive steps and legal issues he raised, Mike was able to negotiate a dismissal of the Gross Misdemeanor Criminal Sexual Conduct charge and his client pled to a misdemeanor where they were put on probation for 1 year.
