Mike recently secured not guilty verdicts in a jury trial where his client was accused of domestic assault and disorderly conduct. Mike’s client was accused of assaulting his estranged wife when she came to his home to discuss reconciliation. The wife claimed that he threw her on to the ground, jumped on her legs, and pummeled her numerous times in the back area causing her significant pain and numerous bruises. In addition to his ex-wife testifying against him, the state also called the mother of the alleged victim who testified about how horrible the bruises were that she had received. Two police officers also testified about how much pain she was in and that she was having difficulty walking and they considered calling an ambulance for her.
Mike raised the defense of self-defense on behalf of his client and while his client admitted that he did push her and hit her one time, it was only done after she had gotten in his face and would not allow him to leave the bedroom. The jury deliberated approximately one hour before finding Mike’s client not guilty of all charges.
This type of result is the culmination of preparation, knowledge, and the thoroughness that Brandt Kettwick Defense brings to each of its cases.
