Mike Brandt’s client was arrested in Blaine in March of 2017 and charged with gross misdemeanor DWI for testing over two and one-half times the legal limit. Mike’s client was originally charged with a gross misdemeanor, which could have resulted in up to a year in jail and a $3,000 fine. In preparation of the case, Mike had the client engage in some proactive steps to show that she took the matter seriously. Additionally, Mike also pointed out some issues with how the police stopped his client’s vehicle and eventually arrested him. Based upon all of these factors, the prosecutor agreed to reduce the charge from a gross misdemeanor to a misdemeanor. Mike’s client was placed on probation for one year with the only obligation that she pay a small fine and stay out of trouble.
