Nicole Kettwick’s client was facing Felony charges with a maximum punishment of 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, or both. His wife brought their four-month-old son into the Minneapolis Children’s Hospital for a wellness check and while there the doctors discovered two fractures. The doctors and law enforcement concluded that the fractures were indicative of abuse. Child Protection got involved and charges of Malicious Punishment with Substantial Bodily Harm were filed against Nicole’s client.
After further negotiation, the Felony charges were amended to Gross Misdemeanor charges and the Judge stayed adjudication of the offense, meaning the judge did not accept his plea or convict him. As long as he complies with the conditions of his probation, the charges will be dismissed all together.
