Mike Brandt’s client was charged with DWI in February 2016 in the City of Ramsey. In going through the case, Mike noticed several irregularities with the basis for the stop of his client and also brought up the fact that there was very little evidence that his client was impaired. Mike also had his client immediately obtain a chemical health assessment and attend an 8-hour class and a MADD Victim Impact Panel. Because of the proactive steps the client took and the issues in the case, the prosecutor agreed to drop the charge down to a Careless Driving, avoiding a DWI conviction for Mike’s client.
This type of outcome is the result of the “double-barreled” approach that Brandt Kettwick Defense takes. The first barrel is to attack the case, and the second barrel is to attack the equities of the case for that is the right thing to do.
