You may have heard that it’s illegal to have something hanging from your rearview mirror, but what other weird traffic laws does Minnesota have? Here are just a few we found interesting:
- Driving a motor vehicle with a cracked windshield that obstructs proper vision
- Driving a motor vehicle with signs, posters, or other nontransparent material on one of the windows
- Having a motor vehicle without a windshield wiper
- Driving a motor vehicle with the windshield or front side windows covered with steam or frost that obstructs proper vision
- Installing a television screen in a vehicle within view of the driver
- Driving a motor vehicle with headphones or earphones in both ears
- Operating a motor vehicle on a highway without a horn audible from at least 200 feet away
- The standard weight limit imposed on vehicles is increased by ten percent for a single-unit vehicle transporting fluid milk from the point of product to either another point of production for additional loading or the point of first processing
- Unauthorized mailbox installation can be considered a public nuisance, a road hazard, and a danger to the health and safety of the traveling public
