Part of what makes Halloween fun is both the tricks and the treats! However, sometimes the tricks can land you in more trouble than you bargained for. In Minnesota, vandalism and damage to property is charged in four degrees, depending on how expensive it is to repair or replace whatever was damaged. For all charges of damage to property, the vandalism, or damage must be done intentionally. A person charged with damage to property can face 0–5 years in jail depending on the severity of the damage, and potentially a fine up to $10,000.
