Result: Mike’s client was charged with Felony Possession of Stolen Property for allegedly possessing a stolen motorcycle. In preparation for the case Mike challenged the search warrant issued in the case and argued that the police omitted important facts when as applying for the search warrant. Mike requested what is called a Franks hearing to show the judge that the police omitted important facts in their application for the search warrant. Mike also challenged whether the police exceeded the scope of the search warrant by searching for the motorcycle. After raising these motions, Mike convinced the prosecutor that he would win these motions and the state dismissed the charges.
