Mike’s client was charged with Possession of Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle when he was accosted in a parked car by a police officer. Mike’s client held a government job and a conviction for this charge would have jeopardized his career, caused him to lose his license, and would have permanently stained his record with a drug conviction.
In preparing the case, Mike had his client obtain a chemical dependency evaluation, Mike’s client attended the recommended class, and Mike supplied numerous letters of recommendation, and other materials to the prosecutor to convince the prosecutor that Mike’s client deserved break. The prosecutor agreed that based on the information presented he would continue the matter for dismissal. This means that the charges against Mike’s client are to be dismissed in one year as long as Mike’s client stays out of trouble. This resolution to the case basically saved the career of Mike’s client and prevented a conviction that would have affected him for the rest of his life.
